Our Beginning

A Practical Alternative to the Plastic Cone

Valley Pets was founded in 2018 in the Pioneer Valley of western Massachusetts. The idea began after our dog, Bailey, needed treatment for an irritating rash and was sent home wearing a plastic e-collar. The cone made eating, drinking, resting, and moving around difficult. That experience showed us the need for a softer recovery option that could protect the affected area without interfering with normal activities.

The Bellyguard Story

From a Simple Need to BellyGuard

For the next 18 months, we developed, tested, and improved the design. Each version helped us refine the fit, coverage, closures, and bathroom access until BellyGuard was ready for use. Today, Valley Pets provides Dog and Cat Recovery Garments to veterinary practices and pet product buyers across the country.
