Stocking Your Practice

You’re not fitting one pet. You’re stocking a size range so the right suit is on the shelf when a patient needs it. The assortment below covers the most common surgical patients and is based on what practices actually use.

Minimum order is 12 units total at checkout — mix dog and cat sizes and colors however your caseload runs.

Plan for two suits per patient

Recommend clients keep two suits per pet: one on the patient, one in the wash. Recovery lasts 10 to 14 days and suits need regular washing. Practices that send pets home with two see fewer follow-up calls about soiled garments.

Using BellyGuard in Practice

BellyGuard works best when it goes on before the patient leaves the building. Fit it during recovery, confirm coverage, and the client walks out with a pet that’s already settled in.
Step 1

Match coverage to the procedure

BellyGuard covers the trunk and abdomen – if the incision sits under the garment, it’s a candidate. The interior pad pocket is centered for spay and neuter drainage. Suit, cone, or both is always the practice’s call.
Step 2

Fit before discharge

Pull the size from stock, fit while the patient is still with you, and check for two fingers of clearance. The belly is intentionally loose to keep fabric off the incision. A patient that leaves wearing the suit is one the client doesn’t wrestle at home.
Step 3

Brief the client

Thirty seconds at discharge prevents most calls: show dog owners the Clip Up System for potty breaks, tell cat owners the litter box needs no modification, mention machine wash cold, and point them to this page for the videos.

Using BellyGuard is quick and easy. A proper fit helps your pet stay comfortable while protecting the healing area. Follow these simple steps before and during use to ensure the best possible experience.

Before You Begin

Before putting on BellyGuard, take a moment to check that you’ve selected the correct size for your pet. A snug but comfortable fit provides the right level of support without restricting movement. If your pet has recently had surgery, always follow your veterinarian’s care instructions first.

How to Put on BellyGuard

Stay Calm and Prepare Your Pet

Choose a quiet space where your pet feels relaxed. Speaking gently and offering reassurance can help make the process easier.

Unfasten BellyGuard

Open all snaps, zippers, or hook-and-loop closures so the garment is fully opened before placing it on your pet.

Insert the Front Legs

Carefully guide each front leg through the correct opening. Take your time and avoid forcing the garment into place.

Pull the Garment Over the Body

Gently pull BellyGuard over your pet’s shoulders and body until it comfortably covers the recovery area.

Position the Rear Section

Guide the back portion into place so the garment sits naturally around your pet’s body without twisting or bunching.

Secure the Closures

Fasten all closures securely. BellyGuard should fit snugly enough to stay in place while still allowing your pet to move comfortably.

Check the Fit

Make sure the garment is lying flat against your pet’s body. You should be able to slide two fingers between the fabric and your pet without difficulty.

Let Your Pet Adjust

Allow your pet a few minutes to walk around indoors. Watch their movement and make any small adjustments needed for a comfortable, secure fit.
